MacLehose Trail
Sections 3-4 on the trail. Some people camp overnight. A decent amount of others were going sections with running vests. There seemed to be a lack of just normal day hikers like me. The trail is a great way to do a through hike with a day pack and still find a way into a city with good transit options and the ability to end your day at a hotel.
I walked south from the hotel to Pok Cheun Street and tried to the reach the trail from the end of a bus turn around and water reservoir but the trails on the my map were too overgrown and it could have possible to descend down a water channel into this gulley where the official trail was but I called it and backtracked along a Powerline access trail to rejoin the official route lower down.
One of my biggest surprises about the trails around here is how you can never know about the condition just from looking at the maps. There are tons drawn onto Gaia but multiple times I have found myself unable to follow it while others are paved paths.
The MacLehose Trail had a good section map which indicates the condition of the trail in a legend which helped me save 3 GPS points for reliable exit points down from the ridge into a town if needed.

There were some minor snacks and water being sold here too. I ended up buying 1.5 L

Lion Rock War Relics Trail
Called this because both the British and Japan has used Kowloon Ridge in the 30s and 40s as attacking positions on higher ground
I thought these snacks were honey glazed nuts and instead they were dried beans with wasabi and despite being a starving hiker I was barely able to eat these. 2 of these bags and a banana was all I had for calories.
Nice to see trail work being done and everything was in great shape.
A decent amount of trail runners doing 1 way trips also
The route heading to Pyramid Hill Suimmit
This guy was camping and was hoping to do 27km but says his group of 5 is moving too slow so they will have to bail and reposition with a taxi
