Chilko Lake Bike Tour

Chilko Lake on the Chilcotin Plateau is the largest high elevation lake in British Columbia and one of the largest lakes by volume in the province because of its great depth. Ever since traveling to Bella Coola, I saw Ts'lyos Provincial Park on the map and wanted to explore this area. My car is not capable on anything except asphalt so this leaned me towards an overnight bike tour. After passing many black bears at Heckman Pass, I left my car in the small town of Tatla Lake, which serves as the halfway point between Bella Coola and Williams Lake on highway 20. There is a motel and the owners are really nice people.
